Funky Simplicity uses only 90% cotton with 10% spandex material from Indonesia for all our leggings and most tops.

Sanne, the creator and motor of Funky Simplicity, discovered this high quality soft yet strong cotton/spandex in Bali in 1994 and fell in love with it - and with Bali & its special people at the same time. She got a pair of leggings made for herself (super low-waisted and with big flares at that time!) and realised that this was the material she wants to wear, always! Until 2001 she kept coming back to Bali to make more leggings for herself and some extra to sell on the cute flea-market of Koh Phangan of the early '90s and to friends in her hometown of Amsterdam.

In 2001 Sanne went back to Bali and made for the first time a bigger collection and went to Goa, India. From then on, Funky Simplicity grew slowly into an international underground dance- and yoga- brand with customers literally from all over the world: Women who want something simple yet different, good quality and long lasting while knowing it was made with love in fair trade conditions.
